Conservative policy: Require a 30 day advance notice to Republicans, who can then check the polls to see if it plays right, and hold discussions as to whether they like the guy, or whether they should demonize him for political gain.

Liberals understand how much that conservative policy would damage morale, hinder recruitment and weaken the military. Not to mention that bringing them home, period, is simply the morally right thing to do.
