While the Democrat party may have been energized solely on their opposition to Trump, the Republican party has every bit as much right to be energized because of the success he is having as President. Much to your dismay, he IS succeeding. Recent events with "Rocket Man" and tax reform only demonstrate to that effect.

Success can bring out the voting base just as easily as any presumed failure. You have a lot to learn about political macromanagement.

I would argue they already have won. If the Republican wins, it will be a narrow margin of victory. In a seat the Republicans won by 20 and the Republican wins by 6, that is a 14 point swing. Take a seat that Republicans won by 10 and subtract 14. You get a 4 point victory for Democrats.
