The Military has even more layers of protection for that final event then the Civilian courts, but it takes about 20 years in civilian court as well.

The guy is in the Army. There should be a firing squag for gods sake!!!!
Execution by firing squad is reserved for people who deserve an honorable soldier's death.
Hanging is the death that the military traditionally offers capital criminals.
You are right. Hanging would be better for this criminal.
I just don't want to see the guy get off easy by using lethal injection.
There should be some suffering involved. Not just a softly go to sleep.
