Firefox 19 will introduce a feature called PDF JS. The Java-script based feature will show PDF files in Firefox without a PDF program like Adobe Reader. It is also included in Firefox 18, but you have to activate it:
Open about:config, search pdfjs.disabled and set this entry to false. Then search for pdfjs.previousHandler.alwaysAskBeforeHandling and set this entry o true. Done.
Users of older versions of Firefox need to install the extension PDF JS:
