Fight C.A.I.R. & the A.C.L.U

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has consistently and persistently condemned terrorism and the killing of innocent civilians. CAIR has also organized fatwas, petition drives, placed advertisements in national and local newspapers, ran public service announcements on television and radio stations, helped local Mosques across the United States in holding open houses, published Op-Eds in local and national newspapers, conducted inter-faith meetings and worked with scholars to disseminate the peaceful teachings of Islam.

In addition to specific campaigns, we have compiled a 68 page document showing all of the condemnations of terrorism after September 11th, 2001 and a similar document after the July 7th, 2006 bombings in London, UK.

The following is a sampling of campaigns we have conducted.

Fatwa Against Terrorism

CAIR backs Fatwa against Terrorism. English, Arabic, Urdu radio anti-terror PSAs released (Washington, D.C., 7/28/05) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today offered its support for a fatwa, or Islamic religious ruling, against terrorism and extremism issued by the Fiqh Council of North America (FCNA) and endorsed by more than 120 U.S. Muslim groups, leaders and institutions.

Not in the Name of Islam Petition

The “Not in the Name of Islam” petition states: “We, the undersigned Muslims, wish to state clearly that those who commit acts of terror, murder and cruelty in the name of Islam are not only destroying innocent lives, but are also betraying the values of the faith they claim to represent. No injustice done to Muslims can ever justify the massacre of innocent people, and no act of terror will ever serve the cause of Islam. We repudiate and dissociate ourselves from any Muslim group or individual who commits such brutal and un-Islamic acts. We refuse to allow our faith to be held hostage by the criminal actions of a tiny minority acting outside the teachings of both the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Persistent and Consistent Condemnation of Terrorism

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has a clear record of consistently and persistently condemning terrorism. Yet American Muslim groups like CAIR get repeatedly asked the question why have Muslims not spoken out against terrorism? The fact is they have, but who is listening? This prompted one media commentator to ask, “Are Muslims condemning terror to the deaf?”

Are they Silent?

It didn't take much effort to find their policy regarding terrorism on their website, dude...

What else do you have?

c.a.i.r. publicly goes after anyone who dares criticizes islam or islamic extremists

mainly they try to suppress free speech.

Thats why i dont like them

I have heard lots of negatives on them.

ill look at your links later

You don't entice cooperation at the end of a pointed finger. I'd suggest holding onto as many moderates as possible. Their stance on terrorism is clear. Muslim may be a dirty word these days but until you can prove accusations they are just as much not guilty as the next group accused.

They protect their own. Much like christians protect THEIR own. Like I said, if you can prove something then i'll check it out.. if not.. maybe reconsider the talking points.

glenn beck and mike savage are hardly men to look up to.

Im sorry, i wasnt trying to point my finger.

OH, and muslims shouldnt protect their own, when their own are terrorists?

do you understand what i mean?

al queda will kill any muslim who doesnt comply.

But wasnt trying to be pompous, but it shouldnt be racist to point out, islamic radicals exist in islam

glad we can talk it out without name calling

not every muslim is a terrorist.

Its clear that a lot of people in america think that they are.

This is why beck and savage can't pin anything besides accusations against Cair. If they could prove malicious behaviour it would be over already. THEIR finger pointing and accusations and the wave of bullshit caused are why this group exhists in the first place.

This is why I asked for evidence... not talking points.

peace

Do you have any evidence to suggest alot of americans believe all muslims are terrorsts

I dont think every time people say something about muslim terrorists, the pc police should come and repremand them for not saying all muslims

C.A.I.R. has been going after conservative radio talk show hosts. And i dont support silencing people, becuase you dont agree with that

Glen beck is one of the best, i dont know what you have against him

Glen beck is a king Tard. If you want to believe he is some kind of hero then so be it. However, I've already shown you how his diatribe against C.A.I.R. is an unfounded, baseless accusation. I've just shown you the product of his incontinence of the microphone. This isn't about poor boohoo conservatives and their precious talk radio. You leveled a finger in accusation and you can't back up the assertion you took strait from Glen Beck. He is not offering intelligent conversation, Acts. He is an ENTERTAINER. If world peace broke out tomorrow Glen Beck would be out of a job.

Hell, he's not even the most interesting of right wing talking heads anyway.

You can believe, think, say and do what you want, dude... But, just so you know, you don't look like a political ace when you regurgitate shit you heard on the radio.

How many hate crimes committed against muslims?

you give some good info.

Glen makes some good point, but perhaps he was not right on c.a.i.r.

By all means, you are free to believe in whoever you want. If Glen is your lighthouse then so be it. Perhaps he does say the occasional intellegent thing. I'm certainly no fan of his..

My advice to you is not in telling you who to listen to but to think critically about what they are saying. People make mistake while venting and performing in outraged character roles. Ann Coulter wouldn't sell near as many books if she didn't say idiotic shit about liberals. Same with Glen and every other pundit with an opinion who is selling commercial time to support their SHOW. You can see it with Kieth Olberman too.

Hey Acts... THIS happened yesterday in my town.

Police detonate package without incident at Islamic School

By JOE MEYER and SEAN SPOSITO of the Tribune’s staff
Published on columbiatribune.com Thursday, November 15, 2007

Police detained a man for questioning Thursday afternoon in connection with a suspicious package that was placed near the entrance to the Islamic School of Columbia downtown, prompting public safety officials to evacuate the school and adjacent center.

Sgt. Lloyd Simons told reporters that police had detained the man — described as white and in his 20s — and taken him to the Columbia Police Department. The man left a duffel bag on the playground area about 10 yards from the building, Simons said, and then acted suspiciously by trying to cover up his face. School staff alerted police at about 2:15 p.m.

The man was taken into custody by police at about 4 p.m. near Fifth and Elm streets after he returned to the scene and officers noticed him from a description provided by school staff. Police detonated the duffel bag without incident at about 5:10 p.m., about 40 minutes after a remote-controlled robot was activated to detect the presence of explosives in the vicinity. The controlled explosion reverberated downtown.

No one was injured during the incident.

No explosives were found in the bag. Simons described the contents as common items such as papers and books. Within minutes of the detonation, officials began taking steps to withdraw from the area.

“We’re trying to detect if there was any damage to the mosque,” Simmons said after the planned detonation. A passerby who identified himself as a member of the Islamic Center told the Tribune that two teachers at the school noticed the package after “a suspicious individual” left the package.

Columbia police Sgt. Ken Gregory described that person as “an individual with no legitimate reason to be there.”

About 50 children from the Islamic School were evacuated temporarily to the nearby Walton Building, home of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce.

Cheikh Seye identified himself as the parent of a preschooler in the building. He said his daughter was among those moved to the Walton Building.

“I just want to go there. I just want to get my daughter,” Seye said.

Two hours later, police cars continued to block access to downtown Columbia from Providence Road at Elm and Locust streets. Yellow tape marked off about a one-block perimeter around the mosque at the corner of Fifth and Locust streets. Police cars and fire trucks also were gathered nearby.
