FCC wants to lower high speed internet definition and standards
The FCC wants to ditch the requirement to provide higher speed internet and try

Of course we need faster internet access at home and everywhere. It should be affordable (under $100/month) multi-gigabit per second like it is in South Korea and the other leading countries. It will generate more economic activity. It could be delivered by allowing mobile internet via Google loons, drones and with thousands of low earth orbiting internet satellites. This is critical for the US economy and economic competitiveness.

This is fucking stupid...

You do realise that South Korea is only slightly larger than the state of New York. Most of the population of SK is urban in the US we have a significant number of people who are rural or live in small towns it cost a shit ton of money to run fiber or better out to those areas and its not the government's job to dictate internet speeds. any time the Fed gets involved with the private sector the cost skyrockets and service plummets . Let the consumers and market decide not bureaucrats in D.C

By the way the average broadband internet speed in SK is 26 mb/sec in the US it just hit over 50.
