I am taking my son to Old Tucson Studio. I haven't been here since I was much, much younger (pre-fire). My grandfather used to watch all of the western shows and these were mostly all reruns by the time that I was born or old enough to pay attention. But, my family would have a game of trying to guess the location of the show or film by the surrounding mountains. We were, of course, always looking for Tucson.

My son has never seen the mountains and does not much care for westerns. I, on the other hand, have had the stupid Bonanza theme song in my head for the past 48 hours. My favorite western of all time was not shot in Tucson. I love this line:
The Magnificent Seven (1960) - Quotes - IMDb

Here is the clip.

Do you have a favorite western?

Here is the link to the studio, too.

Today is The Dukes birthday and his movies are on all day on TCM. The Wagon Train is one of his first made in 1930..

I am not a fan of westerns, but I do have the Back To The Future trilogy and to me the third film which of course is a western was good stuff! :) :) :)

God bless you always!!! :) :) :)

One of my favorites is Valdez is Coming starring Burt Lancaster. I also like Hombre with Paul Newman. Probably my all time favorite though is El Dorado.

Anything Clint Eastwood, from "The Good The Bad The Ugly" to "Unforgiven". Nice guy too, met him personally in Carmel once when I was there on vacation and he was the mayor.

The Big Country with Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Charlton Heston, Burl Ives, Carrol Baker. Hands down my all time favorite.

Then running a close second would be both these movies.

And of course the best new classic Tombstone...

Bonanza rocked. Still does.
Dad and I watched it every time it came on.

"Honey, BONANZA IS ON!" and I would run in there and flop on the floor while he sat in the recliner. Good times. :)

All of the Clint Eastwood westerns were pretty good.
Some old tv shows like Colt 45,
Have Gun Will Travel,
The Rifleman,
Wanted Dead Or Alive,
Cheyenne,
Roy Rogers,
Lone Ranger,
and one called The Wild West that had different actors each week.
Rawhide was good for a tv show,
and on a lighter note, The Cheyenne Social Club with Henry Fonda and Jimmy Stewart.

You should buy a set of DVD's from the TV show The Rifleman. You and your son would enjoy them.

Every now and then we catch the Rifleman on TV land or whatever station that it comes on. The only thing that he has really got into was Tombstone.

Ooh. He is featured all month. I just looked it up. And we can catch him on my day off.

Thanks.
