TULKARM, (PIC)-- The families of the Islamic Jihad members detained by Tulkarm intelligence agency have called on Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas to intervene after his party Fatah scored a unity deal with Hamas that rules the Gaza Strip.

They said in a letter to Abbas that they have been prohibited from contacting and have been denied information concerning the seven detained men since their arrest 23 days ago.

Hamas members of the Palestinian Legislative Council in Ramallah in a fresh statement called for implementing the items agreed upon in the Palestinian unity deal concerning those imprisoned by West Bank security services.

They expressed hope that the security services would clean up their act and behave according to the spirit of Palestinian reconciliation and put an end to the targeting of resistance supporters in the West Bank.
