Is there a single accomplishment Barack Obama has made since assuming office? I look back at everything he has done, both foreign and domestic and all I see is failure.
His first move in office was an order closing Gitmo. Two years in it is still open. Not only is it still open but COngress has passed legislation mandating it remain open. Of all the inmates released, 25% of them have resumed the battle against the U.S. This is according to a CIA report I saw mentioned in today's WSJ. And that number is an undercount.
Obama's plan to try KSM in NY courts has failed. His plan to try any terrorist in civilian courts has failed , after a jury nearly acquitted one accused terrorist.
Obama's opening on Israeli-Palestinian peace talks is now dead.
Obama's strategy on Iran is wrong and likely dead.
Obama's opening to Russia is functionally dead.
Obama's event at the Copenhagen climate summit, lauded by one idiotic poster here, has resulted in exactly nothing. And the subsequent climate talks in Rio are dead.
He was awared the Nobel Peace Prize largely on his promise to reduce war. Instead he has implemented a losing policy in Afghanistan that has resulted in many American fatalities and many more civilian Afghan and Pakistani fatalities.
His plan of Cash for CLunkers was a failure, puishing demand into the present while doing nothing for the auto makers. It was recvealed that the only reason hybrid cars from GM and Chrysler have sold is because the US government is buying up all they can.
His stimulus is dead, revealed as a failure every singel day with more and research showing it did nothing to stimulate the economy, as though anyone could think a 9.8% unemployment rate was success.
His healthcare policy is likely dead. I say his, although Obama failed to produce a health care policy. Democrats in Congress took the reins, producing something so revolting its failure is apparent even before its full implementation. The administraiton has to issue waivers every week to keep the illusion of success.
Obama's tax policy is a failure. He came into office vowing to end the Bush tax cuts. Now he has pissed off his own party by agreeing to extend them, acknowledging the failure of Obamanomics.
His policy to end DADT is a failure, with congressmen and the military wrangling over it. Isn't he supposed to be the Commander in Chief?

Is there anything this man has accomplished that he set out to do? Even the Left has turned against him (the center did some time ago).

    Since you asked..

Obama delivered what he said he would

    1. Entering office in the midst of the worst recession in 70 years, Obama passed TARP and Stimulus bills that reversed a stock market collapse, ended a financial panic, added 3 million jobs to the economy, saved the banks and saved the auto industry.

    2. Obama redirected the war on terror back to where it belonged...Afghanistan. He partnered with Pakistan to increase strikes against Taliban/AlQaida strongholds in northern Pakistan. He increased drone strikes to kill key terrorist leaders and drive them underground.

    3. He passed the first comprehensive healthcare bill in 100 years of trying and ensured that 30 million Americans who had been ignored were able to obtain coverage

    4. He negotiated a START treaty with the Russians to reduce worldwide weapons stockpiles and continue inspections

Obama has had one of the most impressive first two years of modern Presidents

And, he made it to the christmas party on time, while the former leader was doin' the leading for him.

    Yeah, WHAT A PREZ.!

    Obama's achievements including:

    1. Pissing off China, at a time when we most need their support with the US economic woes.

    2. Wasting trillions of dollars on failing corporations and banks, many of which have just collapsed again despite the bailout already, and giving the CEO's of those companies multi-million dollar holidays at everyone else's expense.

    3. Being a shinning example of a corporate bitch coupled with popularism and sophism.

    4. Being one of the most corrupt President's in US history.

    Worst/most significant/damming failures:

*Presiding over some of the highest unemployment since the Great Depression. Passed a stimulus that did next to nothing to remedy this while tryna increase gov't regulation and taxes on small business owners @ the worst possible time.

    *We're still in Iraq, thankfully.

    *Didn't close Gitmo, thankfully.

*His policy in Afghanistan is faltering.

*His diplomacy/sanctions on Iran is NOT stopping them from pursuing nukes.

*Caves to us, foreign leaders, left is getting seriously tired of him.

    Well yall get the idea.
