Water temperatures off the UK are up to 9F higher than average in some locations. Fish dead of anoxia (hot water holds less oxygen) are washing up in the Gulf. In 2021 a marine heatwave in the Canadian west killed a billion shellfish.

It's amazing how paranoia and a measly 9 degrees can make water change from blue to red.

I have a taste for some boiled mackerel this morning. Are they done yet?

Someone should check the average temps for southern Utah. Not only a record year of snowfall, but the average temps this summer have been significantly lower than this same time last year. It's all good. These shifts in temperature have been going on since the relationship between the sun and earth have existed.

The irony is that if all the people that are truly concerned about climate change would reduce their 'carbon footprint' the results would be measurable and positive. Sadly, most have the "let George do it" mentality.

No, they have not.

Since the majority of their carbon footprint consists of their car and their electricity usage, there isn't much to be done till EVs of some sort are widely available and their residential electricity ALL comes from renewable sources.

That's a copout.

My point was that while we can certainly take action at other levels, till we have replaced our cars and our electricity sources, it will do little good.
The problem is the utter inability of most people to do anything right.
