Evidence piles up that Bush administration got many pre-9/11 warnings - Open Channel

On the 11th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil, there is mounting evidence that the Bush administration received more intelligence warnings than previously known prior to the Sept. 11 attacks that killed nearly 3,000.
Kurt Eichenwald, a former New York Times reporter, wrote in an op-ed piece in Tuesday’s newspaper about a number of previously unknown warnings relayed to the White House by U.S. intelligence in the weeks and months prior to the attacks. Eichenwald wrote of the warnings in his new book, “500 Days: Secrets and Lies in the Terror Wars.”
And former US intelligence officials say there were even more warnings, pointing to a little noticed section of George Tenet’s memoir, “At the Center of the Storm.”
In it, Tenet describes a July 10, 2001, meeting at the White House in the office of Condoleezza Rice, then President George W. Bush’s national security adviser. The meeting was not discussed in the 9-11 Commission’s final report on the attacks, although Tenet wrote that he provided information on it to the commission.

9/11 could of been prevented if it wasn't for neocon arrogance, Bush's pre-occupation with stem cell bullshit and cleaning the brush from his ranch.

He recieved at least a dozen reports from the CIA that an attack was imminant, but dismissed the information as Clinton Admin nonsense.

I am trying to find out who was President back in 1993 when the World Trade Center was bombed the first time. Why wasn't that administration held accountable?....Maybe if they had changed the way intelligence was shared among agencies we would not have had the attack again in 2001.

Just a thought....

OMG, So 9/11 was in the planning stages for 10 years, 8 of Which Clinton was President, but you only see Bush as Failing to Prevent it, in the less than full year he was in office? No blame for Clinton at all?

Hmm, it's a good thing they arrested everyone responsible for that then, isn't it?

Seems to me like that should have served as an even greater warning to the next administration that some serious shit was going down.

Too bad Bush didn't care until after the deed was done.

If it was all on Bush, how come Jamie Gorelick, Clinton's Asst. Attorney General and author of the memo preventing sharing of information among law enforcement, hid behind the 9-11 Commission instead of answering questions like everyone else from Clinton and Bush Admins? Why did Sandy Berger, Clinton's NSA Director feel so compelled to steal and destroy documents pertaining to events leading up to 9-11 from The National Archives?

As others have noted, what specific steps did Clinton take to protect the US from another attack following the '93 bombing?

For all of the celebration of Obama taking out bin Laden, why didn't Clinton do it when he had the chance?

With these facts, how could it be all Bush?

Clinton wasn't President then. He did what he could to tell the incoming Administration about the danger of an attack and they completely dismissed it as nonsense. For 8 months they received reports of an attack was imminant and did nothing about it.

It is the Presidents job to protect the country. Clinton wasn't President, Bush was.

Ye-ah...
Perhaps you missed when Congress accused him of "wagging the dog" in 1998, (supposedly to distract people from the Lewinski affair), when he launched missiles to assassinate Bin Laden in Afghanistan?

Also, perhaps you missed the fact that the people responsible for the 1993 attack were arrested and put in prison?

Indeed.

Charles,

Did the Clinton administration not warn the Bush administration about planned terrorist attacks and who was behind them?

Was the Bush administration not provided with all the intelligence that the Clinton administration had?

Did Clinton hold something back?

Clinton put all those in jail who were responsible for the attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.

Clinton gave Bush all the intel he had on UBL before he left.

Was the Bush administration not provided with all the intelligence that the Clinton administration had?
Bush got all the intel Clinton had, but dismissed the threat as nonsense.

Did Clinton hold something back?
No.

If you people still believe the WTC attacks were the work of 18 Arabs with boxcutters...

Bill Cooper predicted a major terrorist attack on the US in June, 2001 and said it would be blamed on OBL. By the end of the 1st week of November that year, Bill Cooper was killed on his front porch by 'law enforcement'.

William Jefferson Clinton called Bill Cooper "The most dangerous man on radio."

The government feeds you manure and your stupidity blooms.

So, we have the following information:

1. Islamic extremists attacked the World Trade Center a month after Clinton took office in 1993. Clinton captured and imprisoned all the people responsible for said attack.

2. Clinton attempted to assassinate Osama Bin Laden with multiple missile attacks in Afghanistan, and was attacked by the right-wing for apparently attempting to "wag the dog".

3. Clinton gathered large amounts of intelligence on Al Qaeda, and passed on said intelligence to the Bush administration, along with direct warnings of possible terrorist attacks like the one that happened on 9/11.

4. For 8 months after Bush took office, he did nothing to counter the threat posed by Al Qaeda. And on September 11, 2001, with the Bush administration firmly in charge of the White House, Al Qaeda killed 3,000 Americans.

Ahh yes, Bill Cooper:

Cooper linked the Illuminati with his beliefs that extraterrestrials were secretly involved with the US government, but later rejected these claims. According to Cooper, Dwight D. Eisenhower negotiated a treaty with extraterrestrials in 1954 and established an inner circle of Illuminati to manage relations with the aliens and keep their presence a secret from the general public. Cooper believed the aliens actually "manipulated and/or ruled the human race through various secret societies, religions, magic, witchcraft, and the occult" and that even the Illuminati had become unknowingly manipulated by the aliens.

There are always warnings of terrorists here and there that never end up with an attack. I've seen them up close and nothing ever happened.....you never hear about it.

The Bush Admin spent the first months in office fighting Democraps getting their people in place, because left-wing scum didn't believe Bush won the election.

I'm not shocked liberal scum are leaking stuff today to make Bush look bad on 9-11 when their piece of shit has fucked things up worse on the economic front and worldwide with his limp dick strategy.

Bush was the worst president in American history.

Not only did he fail to heed the warnings about 9/11, but his SEC let Wall Street run a derivatives Ponzi scheme that destroyed the world economy.

Actually dumbfuck, the banking mess, housing mess and 9-11 fall in Clinton's lap.

He left ticking time bombs for Bush that scum like you blame on Bush.

Clinton had his fingerprints all over Glass-Steagall, the CRA and stopping the CIA from killing UBL. Educate yourself, dumbfuck.

Bush was the worst president in American history.

Warnings.? The Bush gang planned it, you simpleton. What part of the moon do you live on?
