Ever since the liberals invented minimum wage laws the welfare leeches that couldn't get a free ride from the tax payers have depended on minimum wage laws. This makes the government force employers to overpay the lazy workers who would be sitting at home if they could. Instead of more of Obama's socialism by raising the minimum wage we should eliminate the minimum wage all together. This would bring prices down and let higher wage earners be able to afford a better lifestyle. It would raise profits and best of all it would motivate the lazy welfare leeches to go find better jobs that pay more if they want to survive. The liberals will boo hoo and cry for the poor but that is because most of them are the bums that are to lazy to go find a decent job and want to live off the hard working conservatives.

Minimum wage laws started in New Zealand in the late 1800s. I seriously doubt they were liberals. Now you are equating minimum wage with socialism and over 90% of the countries in the world have minimum wage laws. Look at Germany that doesn't have a minimum wage law and requires individual industries to set a minimum wage by collective bargaining. If you really want to find a country that doesn't have a minimum wage or de facto minimum wage law, you have to go to a failed state like Somalia. Afghanistan and Iraq have minimum wage laws.

It has been explained that our economy considers 4% unemployment as full employment and the Fed will start slowing the economy down long before it gets to 4% unemployment. That means in the real world there will always be at least 1 in 25 Americans unemployed in our workforce and a percentage of those jobs will always be minimum wage jobs. The fact is most minimum wage jobs are more necessary to our economy than jobs that aren't minimum wage. Just how is it possible to spend money in a store and not have someone probably collecting minimum wage and running a cash register? Can you explain how an economy can function without those people? The last I heard in order to get gasoline in New Jersey, someone has to pump it for you, so how can their economy function without someone in summer and winter, rain or shine, pumping gasoline at minimum wage? The next time you open a can of food, how much were those people paid who harvested that food and put it in a can? How are you going to live without that food?

Now, step up to the plate and tell us what you do that is more essential to our economic existence than those minimum wage workers I mentioned! Our world more than likely could exist without you or your kind, but it can't exist without those minimum wage workers we depend on.

These people claim this all the time about minimum wage workers, but the reality is the person is in the way if they can't properly do the job. There isn't room for twice the people to slowly cook french fries or grill hamburgers. There aren't twice the cash registers to run at half speed and piss customers off. Even with our minimum wage being the lowest in an industrialized country, you still have to perform the job or hit the road. It's a myth that it's possible to hire substandard people while paying them a substandard wage and do business.

The minimum wage workers only work because they can't get welfare and are to stupid to deal drugs. They are paid far more than their skill level makes them worth. Wal Mart workers are perfect examples. Prices at Wal Mart would be cheaper if their workers were paid according to their skill level. It is the same with all minimum wage jobs.
