As all true sports fans know, the USSC today ruled - paraphrasingly - that the NCAA cannot conspire among colleges and universities NOT to pay college athletes real money as compensation for their efforts (in addition to free tuition, room & board, and incidentals).

But check out this summary from Business Insider:

"The court's opinion, written by Justice Neil Gorsuch, said the NCAA can no longer ban colleges from providing student-athletes with education-related benefits."

What a fucking moron. How about this: Colleges offer these student-athletes FREE TUITION TO GO TO SCHOOL for playing a fucking game! Is that not an "education-related benefit." Indeed it is the actual BENEFIT OF EDUCATION that is offered to the Yoots, for those who seek to accept it.

In a sane world, the NCAA would not exist. We are the ONLY country that pollutes the institution of "higher education" with this garbage. A pox on all their houses.

They said the athletes can't be denied payment for their likeness in advertisements and their compensation, if the compensation is enough the financial aid is withdrawn because they will no longer qualify for financial aid.

Something interesting in the local coverage of this...a woman basketball player was testifying on the issue in some forum.

WTF? There is only ONE sport that makes a profit in college, football, and a few mens basketball teams do. otherwise THEY ALL LOSE MONEY IN BUCKETS. Women BBers getting paid????? You gotta be kidding!
