The United States will likely enter a recession this year and face high inflation well into 2024, a majority of economists predicted in their response to a semiannual survey.

More than two-thirds of respondents to the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) Policy Survey also see inflation remaining above four percent at the end of this year.

Amid the gloomy economic forecast, there was also some good news, with just five percent of respondents believing the US is currently in the midst of a recession, "far fewer" than the 19 percent in its previous economic survey.

Well been hearing it for a while now. Lol, someday they will be right. Meanwhile they have not done much to support their ability to forecast. What ever though.

Conservatives predict a recession EVERY year a Democrat is in office

It's better to predict a bust that doesn't happen than to predict a boom that doesn't happen.

Excellent. Send me my stimmy check today while the post office can still afford mail carriers.

We are screwed...

Agreed. Bad Moon Rising. The politicians will try to inflate their way out of the debt pickle they are already in, but without significant fiscal restraint it won't work. Sooner or later the economy will go into a real recession followed by another Great Depression and times are going to get really bad. If somebody can offer a rosier picture that is based on reality, I'd love to see it.

Wow, the Fed is raising rates like it is going out of style and now they are predicting a recession.

That is like predicting it will be hot in St Louis in July.

The only real question is what will the job loss be like. We have never entered a recession with this many open jobs.
