Nitrogen doesn't toxify the soil, the issue is nitrogen runoff into waters and TOO MUCH growth, particularly algae. The US method of trying to fix this is to make point sources reduce their nitrogen outflow, i.e. wastewater plants and industrial water use plants.

The Dutch have decided to decimate x3 their production side, with people obviously not happy about it.

Some soils are just naturally acidic, and if you grow enough stuff, you use up the nitrogen.

Do you need a scientific report to justify the incompetence of governments? A point of fact is what is happening in Sri Lanks.

The root causes were many, but chief among them were overspending and a commitment to "green" farming practices, which decimated crop yields, spiked prices and then of course here comes higher oil costs. The combination proved fatal to the economy.
"The rich" are being literally chased down and slaughtered, with "rich" being defined as "has something, when we have nothing." The President fled the nation and, at least report, the Presidential home has been stormed by protestors.
