Thing is, Trump has returned us to what a tip was intended for in the first place. That some restaurants demand it as part of the check, or hands it out to everybody, is the opposite of what a tip was for.
To Insure Promptness. It was a financial grade scale of your server. It has nothing to do with other workers and everything to do with the performance of the waitress.

All of the above workers you mentioned should be a paid better wage. It shouldn't be up to the customer to compensate for the lack of a decent wage handed out by the owner.

Bullshit! I worked in the night club industry for years, and I can tell you that with few exceptions, the entire black community doesn't tip.

Let's say I'm bar tending and I serve 100 white people over a 5 hour shift. I'm going to make about $300-500 in tips. At the exact same club on a hip hop night with an all black crowd, I would be looking at about $50 in tips. I remember the bar staff getting into bitter fights over who would have to work on hip hop nights. There just wasn't any money in it.

Black people are cheap as fuck. Gay people are the best tippers, by the way.
