Who said we need 2,500 miles of wall? Not Trump. Trump built about 460 miles of new wall at strategic locations. DHS and the border guards love the new wall.
There is plenty of desert there to protect the US border where no wall is needed.
We only need wall at strategic locations, and that was built except for about 17-miles.
The Xiden policy is "catch and release" into the US to "wait" for their hearing, Trump policy was that they "wait" in Mexico for their hearing. Its much better keeping them in Mexico than in the US, it can take years for their hearing to be scheduled.

The 450 miles of old "short wall" was ineffective, they were just old panels from the VN war lined up. It was very simple to get over them. The new wall is 18' to 30' high with cameras and sensors making it much tougher to get over or under. See the difference, duh?
