Did you hear the one about the communist country beating the United States at capitalism?

How exactly does that mean they are beating the US at capitalism? Do you define capitalism as total size of economy? If so then Mexico is beating South Korea, and Venezuela is beating Austria. Do you really believe that shit?

China is a lot bigger a country than the US, in GDP/PPP they rank quite low because they aren't that efficient or productive an economy. They are just huge.

With similarly sized economies the US spends far more on military expenditures, 620 billion to 170 billion.

Purchasing Power Parity measurements are useful in gaining a nuanced understanding of how economies compare to one another. On the other hand, there is a certain impracticality to measuring international rank according to local costs of goods. It favors economies with poorer consumers and less transportation cost of goods at home--costs which will ultimately show up as profit on someone's margin.

When international rank is measured in terms of international exchange rate, The US leads all other sovereign nations by a wide margin:

actually China is capitalist. If it were communist it would not be privatizing its industries. When it was liberal communist 60 million slowly starved to death. When it switched to capitalism in 1978 it began 30 years of 10% growth per year.

Its been in all th papers.

PS: the govt often still calls itself communist to save face, not because it is communist.

Which country will have the biggest military?

Its a problem. As their economy grows larger than ours they will be able to afford a bigger military than ours . And, with 4 times the population they will have 4 times the military scientists and be able to absord 4 times more dead people in a war.

The only solution is to convert them western conservatism so we can be friends rather than enemies. Liberals of course stand in the way as always.

The system of government is distinctly communist, single party with Marxist-Leninist structure and system of control.

too stupid of course since the only distinctive feature of communism is that owns and controls everything especially the human soul and the economy. China's so called communist party is relinquishing control over both and openly says it subscribes to Adam Smith's theory. Isn't thinking fun?

china always had cheap labor. It only acquired a strong economy when it switched to Republican capitalism.

China can't be called capitalist, it is not a free market. The economy is state-controlled. Even tthe so-called
private sector entrepreneurs require approval from the brutal regime.

Well you failed right fro the get-go thinking there is only one distinctive feature of communism, which on top of your inability to get your head around the difference between a system of government and economy makes your contributions, as usual in this forum, quite useless for anything other than rah-rah your home political team.

What your pea brain can't grasp is there is a lot of gray area, nothing is black and white in political/social/economic systems so you bringing up an attribute that is capitalist to discount the existence of communism is easily refuted by me bringing up elements of communism to do the opposite.

I understand from your postings on the forum you hold a very child like simplistic world view of polarized states (liberal vs. conservative, etc.) without being able to accept that chasm between them is actually where most things exist, so I won't waste any more time trying to drive that particular concept into your brain.

Imagine if we could force abortions on single women who get pregnant, or married women who already have a child, or if we could put the chronically unemployed in labor battalions doing "shovel ready" jobs, for a riceball a day.

And think of the millions we could save, when a death penalty was handed down and carried out with a pistol bullet in a few days.

Talk about streamlining the system.

Man, those commies sure have capitalism figured out.

Oh, and the prepaid utilities that shut off automatically.

Could Detroit have saved itself some grief with that policy!!!

GO GOOKS!!

Wave of the future.

Even better, if a town is in the way of your shovel ready project just knock all their shit over in a day, problem solved.
