Did George W Bush save the world?

Do you think George W. Bush saved us or do you think he delayed the inevitable? Also, what do you think are the consequences of the government writing 7 trillion dollars worth of checks to prop up our economy?
Bush neither saved us nor delayed the inevitable. I think that we would have survived this storm if he had just let nature takes it's course. I think the banks that didn't take too bad oif a hit would have still bought up the others that didn't fare so well (like JP Morgan buying Bear Stearns and WaMu) with help from the Treasury Dept. to ensure that customers didn't worry.

GWB didn't save anyone from anything. He went along with the Democrats on this bail-out crap which is only going to make things worse in the long run. The only difference between former Bush supporters and Obama supporters is that the Bush people know they screwed up by voting for him. Obama supporters still don't have a clue.

GW was president when 9/11 occurred, not Clinton.

GW destroyed Iraq. They barely have basic services now.

GW destroyed America's standing in the world by making us the country of prison camps and torture.

GW increased the National Debt by TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

GW will go down in history as our worst president ever.

Clinton was president when the Sudan offered Bin Laden in '96, and shockingly said no because "we didn't have enough evidence" as if the guy was a bank robber.

Saddam destroyed Iraq, we supported Saddam in the early 80s to make up for Jimmy Carter's failed attempts to get the hostages out of Iran. We supported Bin Laden in the early 80s to make up for Jimmy Carter's failed attempts to keep the Soviets out of Afghanistan. Today, these two places remain the focus of our military, so I'm still going with Carter as the worst president ever.

You're worried about America's standing, but don't seem bothered by the hate taught at Saudi-funded schools or any of the Madrassas, all of which began long before W snorted his first line of coke.

W not only increased the national debt, spending increased twice as fast during his admin than it did under Clinton. But he got there by supporting Socialist policies like Medicare Drug and No Child Left Behind, while Clinton got there by supporting Libertarian policies like welfare reform and NAFTA.

and can you believe Obama's chief of staff is a Jew! You and the grand wizard must have crapped your sheets when you heard that.

He's just a tad bit more than "a jew". He's the son of a prominent zionist who was involved in terrorist attacks for his cause.

Or can't jews theoretically be terrorists as well?

There's the $1.4 tillion question, isn't it?

Fiscal conservatives?

Please...

How long before our resident die hard partisans understand that basically we have one party --the part of the haves -- divided into two teams?

Money is a manmade tool.

Since it is being manipulated on behalf of a very very very small subset of this nation's population, concepts like fiscal conservatism are very little more than a delusion.

The laws of economics do NOT work like the laws of science, folks.

Get that delusion out of your heads.

Money is not VALUE.

I agree.

GW saved the Iraqi people from a murdering dictator.

GW has protected our nation from terrorist attacks, after Clinton's blunders opened the door for 9/11 to take place.

GW made a real effort for AIDS in Africa.

GW opened the door to more top posts for Blacks than anyone else and that helped make the nation more accepting, to elect Obama.

GW made it through 8 years with no sex scandals.

.........& yes, GW helped bail out and bunch of poorly managed corporations and funds, ran by crooks. Well I guess he is entitled to one mistake.
