According to the Center for Disease Control, 1.25 million people suffer from type 1 diabetes in the US alone. So far, it can only be managed with diet and regular doses of insulin, but scientists at UT Health San Antonio have invented a way of curing the disease in mice that may one day do the same for humans even with type 2 diabetes.

Where there is science and research there is much hope for humanity.

This kind of science is good, but not all science is good.

ending type 1.....that would be great.....i thought it would be from digestive enzymes for type 2....if they can figure out why the gastric by pass is an instant cure....

that's great, but the big question is, did the mice quit smoking???

I have been hearing about a cure since the 1960's when my sister became diabetic. I have heard this story dozens of times. Until it actually happens, I won't get excited.

Hype is part of all news stories nowadays.
I wonder what happened to the critical journalism we had some 30 years ago?
