There have been these trumpet sounds for quite some time and all over the place, never heard of them happening in Hawaii though.

It's a natural weather phenomenon having to do with the interaction of certain types of clouds. They had the same type of eery trumpet sounds in Israel a few years ago and people took it as a message from God that "the end is near".

I have to admit though, it's a pretty scary sound!
