Scott Brown won't be sworn in until Feb 11.

Nikke Tsongas was sworn in within 48 hours of her special election in 2007.

fatboy was sworn in the DAY AFTER his first special election in 1962.

just sayin'

which is why i can proudly proclaim from the rooftops i hope the jackasses fail fail fail

don't sugarcoat it, willow, tell us how you really feel.
:eusa_angel:

yeah, it's not like the repubs are political or anything...

how long did it take to get Al Franken certified again because the governor of his state was GOP?

and Burris wasn't sworn in immediately either.

just sayin'

politics is a full contact team sport.

Well there is no doubt where Willow stands on this one huh. I don't think this comes as much of a surprise to anyone really. It won't have much of an impact on the healthcare bill from what it appears as the healthcare bill seems to have it's own problems now. On a positive note, at least his election got congress to FINALLY start talking about getting their house in order, not that it will result in anything, but at least they recognize that fact, it's too bad it took an election for them to understand it.

difference being the contest in Minn. was contested with numerous delays and recounts.Same with Burris lots of controversy and questions of a legal nature, . Nothing short of a landslide in Mass.. Seat the man.

coleman knew he wasn't winning at the last recount. he still appealed.

no difference. that's what politicians do. and if they have too thin a skin for the big game, they shouldn't be playing.

or do you need to read Bush v Gore?

They should've scheduled it for February 14th so they could exchange Valentine's gifts.

Oh yes, Al Franken was held up for months. It was close but not close enough for Coleman to keep it going that dang long.

no I don't need to read Bush v. Gore.. the SCOTUS voted Bush and the too low to go democrats have bitched since that time.. there is a big difference in contested contests and landslide victories.. most anybody can see that.
