The 35-page dossier claims that Russia is in possession of damaging or embarrassing information about Trump which could be used for purposes of blackmail to get Trump to cooperate with the Russian government.

When CNN reported the existence of the dossier on January 10, 2017,[34] it did not name the author of the dossier, but revealed that he was British.
