In this other thread an innocent Uber driver was an unsuspecting accomplice in an extortion by threat scheme perpetrated on an 81 year old victim who ended up shooting and killing the innocent Uber driver you was directed by the Uber app to pick up a package at the victims home. The package was to contain $12,000 in ransom for a loved one of the victim. Turned out it was a scam. And the police say it was a burner phone used to engage the Uber
What worries me after reading this story is...
If you can use a burner phone and a prepaid credit card to engage unwitting Uber drivers in package pickup and deliveries...what would stop someone from leaving a package bomb on the doorstep of an empty house with delivery instruction to take it to say...an abortion clinic...or a synagogue...or a judges house ?
