One of the underlying subjects in my posts on Police Misconduct and Reform is that the times, they are a changing. What a cop could get away with ten years ago, you can’t get away with today. You have to be professional, and you have to be able to justify your actions as not only legal, but proper.

White cop's shocking rant after 'racially profiling' two men in mall parking lot | Daily Mail Online

Well the fallout has fallen, and the cop was not only fired by Nordstrom where he was a part time security guard, but from the Police Force. Two jobs lost, and everyone knows he was wrong. The “backup” officer said he was wrong, and refused to assist him in arresting innocent men. The Chief said he was wrong, and fired him. Nordstrom said he was wrong, and fired him.

So what will happen to our heroic officer now? Who knows. He was already in one small town department, chances are he’ll be working for another one soon. But he should be a lesson to others. Hopefully a lesson where you know you won’t do that because you know what will happen.

It is probably a “there but for the grace of God” lesson for more than a few. You just can’t do that anymore. The era of the cop being right always, is long over. There are more cops all the time processed into prison, and it’s past time for them to figure it out. They can’t do it like it was the bad old days anymore. Too much video, too many witnesses, and too much truth exposed to the world about the cops and how they behave.

Kudos to the second cop, who listened, and then told the first he couldn’t do what he wanted, despite his authoritarian mentality. Civil Rights, if you are a left leaning type, or Civil Liberties, if you are more Libertarian, are coming back in style, and the more cops who insist it isn’t happening, despite all the evidence to the contrary, then the more who will be unemployed, or in jail.

You are a cop, or were. You can’t do whatever you want.

Fucking off duty pig at that.

I would not get too excited about one anecdotal incident.

WHITE SUPREMACISTS AND other domestic extremists maintain an active presence in U.S. police departments and other law enforcement agencies. A striking reference to that conclusion, notable for its confidence and the policy prescriptions that accompany it, appears in a classified FBI Counterterrorism Policy Guide from April 2015, obtained by The Intercept. The guide, which details the process by which the FBI enters individuals on a terrorism watchlist, the Known or Suspected Terrorist File, notes that “domestic terrorism investigations focused on militia extremists, white supremacist extremists, and sovereign citizen extremists often have identified active links to law enforcement officers,” and explains in some detail how bureau policies have been crafted to take this infiltration into account.

Although these right-wing extremists have posed a growing threat for years, federal investigators have been reluctant to publicly address that threat or to point out the movement’s longstanding strategy of infiltrating the law enforcement community.

No centralized recruitment process or set of national standards exists for the 18,000 law enforcement agencies in the United States, many of which have deep historical connections to racist ideologies. As a result, state and local police as well as sheriff’s departments present ample opportunities for white supremacists and other right-wing extremists looking to expand their power base.

Hardly an anecdotal incident. These are happening with increasing regularity. Last week, a Georgia Cop got twenty years for shooting an unarmed man. Ten years ago he would have gotten a pat on the back.

So the guy was a douche bag. This has no correlation to any other police Officer. He got what he deserves.

Its good to know that rogue cops are taken care of in real life too and not just on TV. Jamie had to get on to one this weekend during the Blue Bloods show.

God bless you always!!!

The point the OP is making is that yes he got what he deserved but not all that long ago there wouldn't have been anything done about what he did.

Odds are decent that the two men in the car might even underwent a beating for "resisting arrest".

So far in 2019, 107 Police Officers died in the line of duty to give skull and cross bone pirate idiots the right to imagine Police Officers "can do whatever they want". Who ya gonna call when a disturbed kid starts shooting your kids?

The argument that goes to have a police force you have to accept bad cops is a failed argument.

So an asshole is out of a career. The bad ones weed themselves out. It’s not the old days.

Every issue in the world is not a crisis. No one needs to accept anything. There are good and bad in every line of work.
