Ah the good old government sticking it to the working class once again. Does anyone really believe that the oil companies are going to just eat this tax?

The bill prohibits oil companies from passing the fee on to consumers, but taxpayer advocates said thats a sham and that the money has to come from consumers.
To say they cant pass on the cost, are they supposed to take it out of their kids college fund? said Diane Katz, research fellow in regulatory policy at the Heritage Foundation. Its kind of silly because of course the costs are going to get passed on. Money is fungible. Theres no way its not going to get passed on to the consumer.
