It’s insane how the only way to properly worship the planet is the number one failed economic and political system ever tried.

The fact it’s now led by a 16 year old drop out special ed girl should give you some pause on this.

The planet is a system of chemicals, plants, animals, and energy, that allow us to survive.
We can destroy parts of that complex system if we want, but most likely that will cause our deaths in the process.
I would prefer we leave things alone, the way they have been for millions of years, so that we are more likely to survive.

The internet requires very little electricity, and is not a significant threat to anything.
But yes, I have moved out to the country, no longer commute, and do try to grow some of my own food.
Still a learning process, but getting better at it.

Things had been left alone for millions of years because in the past we did not know how to do anything that could significantly change anything.
The worst we could do is cause whales to almost go extinct by over hunting them.
However, with the discovery of fossil fuels, internal combustion engines, etc. we started adding over 29 billion tons of additional carbon to the atmosphere every single year. And most of that will stick around and accumulate in the atmosphere. It is not like other pollutants that tend to quickly break down.

That fact carbon in the atmosphere incredibly significant has been completely proven.
And in fact, the earth would be 40 degrees colder if not for global warming.

How does such a small amount of carbon make so much difference?
It is because the only place where heat can leave the planet is at the upper troposphere.
And there, only carbon is really significant at all.
Water can be a greenhouse gas as well, but normally water vapor will condense out of the upper troposphere because it is too cold at that altitude.
