what do you think? Cars kill thousands of people every year... we should have some control on who owns these dangerous vehicles.

Background checks to own a car.
30 day waiting period before purchasing a car.
Denial of said ownership if there is any evidence of poor driving.
Denial if you have any mental issues
Denial if you have any drug or alcohol issues.

its a good thing.... right? :eusa_clap:

Gee, this would be such a valid comparison...if cars weren't regulated out the ying yang. Wow...and you even have to have a LICENSE to drive one.

yes... and you have to have permit to own a gun just as you do with a car. Criminals and illegals use both without licenses or permits. People are still harmed and killed with cars. Whats your point?

Are we background checking the drivers is said killer cars? I don't think the mentally ill or drug and alcohol abusers should be allowed to purchase cars much less drive or have access to them.

A person who doesn't take this seriously doesn't have a heart and has no compassion for the children.

We need these laws enacted too for all those who seek to harm children through abortion.

You own a car right?

Because many of these things are required to own one..at least in NYC.

Oh..and another thing.

You need insurance and are liable for any damage or injury you cause as a result of an accident.

That's not the case with guns..

cars kill

cars are driven by humans

its not the cars that are the killers... its the humans.

If guns are to be this regulated with this many restrictions, background checks..and a yea or nay given based on that background check... then cars should be too.

not all drivers have a license or carry insurance.....

I am perfectly willing to assign the same amount of control over cars and guns

With cars we have:

Requirements for training and licensing
Car registration requirements
Traceability of sales
Liability Insurance requirements
Speed limits and rules and regulations for operating a motor vehicle
minimum age requirements
Revocation of driving privleges
Restrictions on driving while drunk
Safety requirements

Lets do the same for guns
