Of the countless virtues necessary for civilization, civility seems to be the number one. After all, if you can't be civil, how can you have a civilization?
Yet, it's also the one that is severely lacking in modern America. And this isn't one side isn't civil while they other side is. Everyone seems to be having issues with civility.
So we can't be nice to our neighbor because they are liberal or conservative? We can't treat the guy down the street as a human because he happens to be muslim? Or athiest? or Christian? or Jewish?
Without civility, we have no civilization. So what do we do to build civility in our nation?
