Christie - 5,000 jobs in the hole

So I'm watching Morning Joe and one guest asked Gov. Christie, who Mika calls a "star", "Did you really fire 20,000 people?"

The big guy said, "Yes, government workers, and we have created 15,000 private sector jobs".

So I go looking to see where the jobs were created and the only thing I find is a tunnel project that Christie cancelled and then started up again, only this time taking credit for it, and, it looks as if it's being paid for with "Stimulus Money" from Obama, of all things.

So, is this the "Republican way"? I posted a list of 114 Republican Senators and Congressmen who have publicly taken credit for "stimulus" jobs while saying the stimulus didn't lead to a single new job.

Can right wingers please explain how this works? I'm just not feeling the "love".

Reforming State GovernmentThe ChallengeFor years, New Jersey has been infamous for the corruptness and impropriety of its elected officials. As a result, the faith and confidence of all of New Jerseyans, particularly our hard working middle-class families, has been undermined.

The SolutionAs U.S. Attorney, Christie convicted over 130 corrupt elected officials, making government more honest and transparent. Governor Christie will continue to work to improve transparency, strengthen accountability, and put the taxpayer first.

Governor Christie’s approach to government reform has three key objectives:

•Eliminate the Legislature’s conflicts of interest
•Eliminate loopholes to strengthen laws banning pay to play
•Demand greater transparency and accountability in government

That's why the right wing is mystifying to me.

They seem to hate education, only 6% of scientists are Republican, yet, they insist they know how to "make it better" which includes "mystical creation", which of course, would make it worse. Not to mention their high drop out rate.

They hate government yet want to run it.

They complain about spending money, but explode the deficit every time they are in power.

They insist they follow a "peaceful Christ", but go on and on about bombing this country or that.

What they say they want and what they actually do are polar opposites. They want America strong, but weaken it worse than al Qaeda ever could.

Rebuilding New Jersey's Economy
The Challenge
In recent years, the unemployment rate in New Jersey has skyrocketed while jobs and businesses have packed up and left the state. Families are struggling to make ends meet and are left to make severe cutbacks as a result of the tough economic conditions.
The Solution
Governor Christie is committed to making New Jersey competitive again by attracting quality-paying jobs, expanding new industries, and promoting New Jersey as a good place to do business.

Tactical solutions for the Governor’s plan include the following:
Cutting taxes and the cost of doing business in New Jersey
Cutting excessive red tape and regulation
Creating the “New Jersey Partnership for Action”
Promoting New Jersey as a good place to do business
Increasing efficiency in public sector investment
Making New Jersey’s health care more affordable for small businesses

The World is still safe for RDean, NYCarbineer, Lex Luther, the Riddler, Gold Finger, and their evil schemes!!!

New Jersey governor Chris Christie again brushed off talk of a possible 2012 presidential bid on Wednesday, denying reports that he was associated with a political action committee (PAC) and asserting that there was a "zero percent" chance he would jump into the fray.

"There is no chance," he said in an interview with NBC's "Today Show" on Wednesday. "Zero chance. Under any circumstances. Close the door, nail it shut."

Regarding reports that an adviser was considering forming a PAC on his behalf, Christie said "that was an old partner of mine."

"I don't have a federal PAC," he said. "I haven't done it. I don't have any plans to do it. And the fact is, I'm not running."

The popular New Jersey Republican, who tied for in third place in an unofficial presidential straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) earlier this month, refrained from voicing his support for any potential GOP contenders, arguing that "I don't even know who the field's gonna be entirely."

"I don't think there's any front runner right now," he said. "I think the field's really wide open."

Christie, who has over the last year earned prominence in the Republican party for his brash, budget-slashing efforts at repairing the New Jersey economy, also denied the argument that the GOP emphasis on balancing state budgets was a cover for disempowering the middle class.

GOVERNOR CHRISTIE SIGNS BILL
TO CREATE FREE SALTWATER FISH REGISTRY

(11/P21) TRENTON * Governor Christie signed a bill into law today that creates a free State saltwater fishing registry in New Jersey, one that will comply with federal requirements and will not financially impact the State's saltwater anglers.

The creation of a State registry will allow New Jersey anglers to avoid a $15 saltwater registration fee imposed by the federal government as of Jan. 1.

"Fishing from our shores has been and should remain free to our residents. Some simple pleasures in life should be not be subject to a new unfunded federal mandate,'' said Governor Christie.

Creation of a free State registry was lauded by the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance which worked closely with the Governor's Office and the DEP on this issue.

"We realize the DEP has profound responsibilities to protect public health, safety and the environment, all with increasingly limited room for budgetary maneuvers,'' said Anthony Mauro, chairman of the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance. "So we applaud DEP Commissioner Bob Martin for working to implement this bill in the most efficient means possible within his agency's current budget.''

Saltwater fishing is an important economic engine for New Jersey, providing 38,000 jobs and a $1.2 billion annual boost to the state's economy, noted Commissioner Martin.

"The DEP recognizes the importance of protecting and managing our marine resources for the benefit of the environment, hundreds of thousands of anglers who enjoy this resource, to our multi-billion dollar tourism industry, and the thousands of jobs related to saltwater fishing,'' said Commissioner Martin, who thanked the New Jersey Outdoor Alliance for its efforts.

"We will work to get this new registry on line as soon as possible,'' Commissioner Martin added.

Beginning on Jan. 1, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration required saltwater anglers in states like New Jersey without a state saltwater fishing registry or saltwater fishing license to pay $15 to register with that agency. The registry requirement is part of an effort to improve the quality of data used in fisheries management, according to NOAA.

Yeah .... you shitcan 20,000 worthless and or redundant, socialist government bureaucratic jobs and and you create people who can actually work need.

You are such a leftwing propagandist. You REALLY should consider public office. You'd fit right in with Reid, Pelosi and Stuart Smally.

If Obama can claim he created jobs when he did not in districts that don't exist, why can't Christie?

Christie saved the state from a default that would have wiped-out tons of jobs public & private. So Christie can say he saved jobs.

Actually, the way he's really creating jobs is by building better access to outside the state. That's called "infrastructure". Hence, "The Tunnel Project". Which of course, is a Democratic idea.

I love the way Republicans scream they hate Democrats, yet, the only good ideas they have, they steal.

private jobs bring in revenue, government jobs do not. So hes on the right track.
