So I've been thinking of how we can try to fight the production of child porn more effectively and I came up with some ideas, and I wonder what you think.

All virtual child porn (drawings, sculptures, CGI images of kids getting screwed) should be legal as they harm no one and the evidence that they cause pedos to screw kids is very bad. If it's found that they made the images by first molesting a child than they should be arrested for molesting the child and not making an image.

Now anyway here's my bigger proposal (please read the entire thing before commenting).

The government should scour the internet for a week and find as much child porn as it can. It shall than prosecute the makers and consumers of said child porn but then it shall make all the images it finds public domain, legal to access and found in one convenient website (possibly with a .gov tag). All of the aforementioned images shall be tagged and if anyone is found with child porn that is not part of the public domain porn archives than they will be prosecuted, unless they can prove it was made before the one-week sweep. All makers of real child porn shall continue to be prosecuted.

Real child porn consists of images and video of kids being molested, as long as it's in demand kids will be molested for it at some rate. I'd love to go back in time and stop those kids from being molested but I can't and so we might as well use those images to lower demand. With this option the pedos into it have two options.
One. Search the internet for child porn created after the date in question and face the possibility of being persecuted.
    2. Look at virtual child porn or go to the government's big stash of public domain kiddy porn and not face prosecution.

If they choose option number two they will not be feeding into the demand for videos of molested children and in theory the underground business of making such images and photos will videos and be easier to deal with.

    So... any comments?

I am reminded of the Lolicon debate in japan, where they tried to ban it on such grounds. research was forwarded to suggest that by allowing such a release for such fantasies, it might actually prevent the victimization of children by many who can satisfy their desire through such outlets.

Do we do the same with the numerous photographs of the scenes of other crimes? I think not. Keep it in a database (they probably do), but not one for public consumption.

Also, this would simply encourage those who make such things to falsify the data to appear as if it were made before the deadline. Try proving otherwise.

"Do we do the same with the numerous photographs of the scenes of other crimes? I think not."

Are those crimes committed because people want to see images of those crimes committed?

Although you're right about falsifying dates and with innocent until proven guilty it wouldn't be too hard to get away with. Perhaps that part should be removed from the proposal.

So, striking that from your proposal, would it be accurate to say that you propose:
-keeping the production, ownership, and distribution of child pornography that is produced by the use of children illegal (to avoid the previously cited loophole)

-Continuing to prosecute those who violate that law

-Allowing representations of child sexuality not produced through the use of children (eg: drawings, cartoons, etc) to be legally produced, posessed, sold and distributed. (I'm not sure what the law is regarding this right now I believe it's still legal, nationwide, but I vaguely recall a case being heard on the matter not long ago)

    ?

If so, it seems that you're pretty much arguing for keeping things as they are; the only change you had really proposed has been recanted.

No I'm still proposing the aforementioned database I'm just changing the rules to

If you have ANY child porn that's not in the database you will be prosecuted (regardless of when it was made).

so, you propose making an as-yet-to-be-determined- library of child pornography, made through the use of children for illegal sexual acts, legal to own and distribute? That's not even logical, and all someone will have to do is argue that the same acts are shown, therefore if A is okay, then how can B (which is the same thing,. save for the 'actress') be illegal? The end result is the legalization of all child pornography, while the acts that need be performed to create it are illegal. It seems to me that you want your library of kiddy pron to be legal (the logical implication and most likely result of your proposition), but cannot argue directly for it.

Apparently, FT wants his library of child pornography to be legal, and to share and trade it without fear of prosecution. He seems, however, unwilling to argue for it openly for some reason....

No I'm saying we get a large government supply of free old CP to cut demand on any new CP.

You make the public database once and you NEVER add to it. You also don't pardon the people who made or owned kiddy porn before you made the database.

This is made to give pedos an outlet so that they don't contribute to the black market kiddy porn business that molests kids for profit.

Wouldn't work that way. All a lawyer must say is:

A shows X. B shows X. The courts have ruled that X is perfectly legal material to possess in the form of A. Since A ~ B, B must therefore be legal.

Your proposal flies in the face of reason and of how the system works.
