'I'm really scared': Neighbors sound off after 600-gallon oil spill near Richmond's Chevron refinery
CHEVRON OIL SPILL: A county official says close to 600 gallons flowed into the Bay. He also says "petroleum washed ashore along South Richmond shoreline which will harm wildlife and marine life."abc7news.com
"The Chevron refinery in Richmond is investigating an oil spill Tuesday afternoon, according to city and county officials. "It smelled like somebody spilled gasoline in front of my house it smelled very very badly for whole day," said Margaret Berczynski, who is furious that no text alert went out about the spill. California's Office of Emergency Services (OES) says a pipeline was leaking approximately five gallons a minute until the leak was stopped around 4:40 p.m. Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia says "close to 600 gallons" flowed into the Bay during that time. Something he calls "unacceptable."
Funny how there were absolutely no oil spills for the past 4 years and as soon as Biden is in office, we have an oil spill....there should be an investigation as to whether Biden had a hand in possibly causing the leak in order to drive his radical green energy plan and try to do away with oil entirely.
Good thing they shut down that Keystone pipeline where spills could be contained, rather than pollute waterways.
Genius.
Its MUCH easier to clean up an oil spill in the ocean than in a river. Use your damn brain.
You think they run the lines along rivers?
See the Yellowstone River spill.
Yellowstone River Oil Spill (July 2011) - Montana ...
HISTORY OF THE SPILL On July 1, 2011, a 12-inch diameter pipeline (Silvertip Pipeline) owned by ExxonMobil Pipeline Company ruptured near Laurel, Montana, resulting in the discharge of crude oil into the Yellowstone River and surrounding floodplain. It is estimated, approximately 63,000 gallons (about 1,500 barrels) of oil was discharged.
So what are the odds that a pipeline will break right by a river verses on open ground?
How the hell would I know.. pipelines cross rivers and creeks all over the place. Look at a map.
At least you admit you have no idea what you're talking about.
