They are not digging to find anything. They are just trying to hurt Hilary because they know she will be a formidable opponent in 2016. They are hoping to leave a "negative impression" of her in the media so that people won't support her. But in order to do that they have to have something of substance and it just doesn't exist so this could end up backfiring. Normal rational people, especially politicians, think these things through and weigh up the pros and cons before they embark on things like this. But we aren't dealing with normal rational people here.
