Census finds record gap between Rich and Poor

I agree with you Bern80. Excuses are barriers. And maybe Americans got used to comfort and convenience that making or taking extra miles to make our lives better are hard for some. Those we considered rich are not as relaxed as we think of them. They won't make it on top if they haven't put a lot of time, thought and effort in what they do. America's revenue gap disparity proceeds to expand at breakneck pace. True economical healing will be difficult to achieve under such conditions of disparity, argues Steven Pearlstein in the Washington Post. While the GOP is pretending the income distance isn't a significant issue, Democrats aren't exactly burning up Congress with their path to the cure, Pearlstein writes.

Nobody is looking to redistribute wealth by taking from the rich and giving to the poor. But we need to repeal those Government actions that have encouraged a bigger piece of the pie going to the wealthy. Tax Breaks, subsidies, relaxed labor and safety laws, relaxed environmental laws all help the rich get richer.

The American worker is the most productive worker on earth. They work more hours and produce more product and yet have less and less to show for it.
Meanwhile, CEOs and top executives get more compensation than their foreign counterparts and have less to show for it
