Sports-fanfare in America is such a fun but such an 'odd' experience, so I cooked up a parody inspired by the films The 6th Man and Like Mike.

Two wandering warriors named Vega and D were travelling across Europe as the Boston Celtics Phenomenon was really taking shape. Vega and D noticed that the Celtics (NBA) had become popular surprisingly in various European countries such as Belgium, France, Romania, and Germany. However, nothing really symbolic happened in regards to Ireland or Irish culture (even though 'Celtics' was an Irish-culture derivation term!). Vega and D concluded that the Celtics were making American basketball popular on their own.
When the Celtics won their next NBA title in 2008 (with talented shooter and leader Paul Pierce), everyone wondered if Boston pride would translate into 'Irish pride' in America. Vega and D wondered the same thing! Celtics t-shirts became a great merchandising 'treasure' among American youngsters and Vega and D decided to start selling these t-shirts all across Europe. Vega and D must have sold 300 of these Celtics t-shirts and celebrated their profits with great afternoon lunches at a Paris bistro one summer. It was really odd (and a great 'nod' to capitalism).
Vega and D were invited to a strange dinner at a royal prince in Belgium. The prince introduced himself and his beautiful wife to Vega and D and explained to the two eccentric wandering warriors that they were Celtics fans! The prince (Armand) and his beautiful wife (Alyssa) served Vega and D fancy shrimp-and-cream rice, chick-pea-soup, and all kinds of exotic grapes from around the world (including from America --- California). At the end of the dinner, Vega and D discovered that Armand and Alyssa were vampires and wanted to travel to America to 'prey' on Celtics fans! Vega and D fled the unusual castle and remembered the omen.
When Vega and D arrived in Boston to help the citizens prepare for the arrival of the preying-vampires (Prince Armand and Princess Alyssa), they realized that the two Hollywood (USA) movie 'super-stars' Tom Hanks and Tom Cruise were already in Boston planning a new film about Celtics fanfare(!). Hanks/Cruise wanted to make a film about the odd psychological 'phenomenon' of Celtics fanfare in America, and Vega and D knew that the vampires Armand and Alyssa would attack the two movie-stars making a film about the Celtics and fanfare. Vega and D explained to Hanks/Cruise that Celtics-fanfare was drawing in 'metaphysical ghouls' from Europe.
Vega and D decided to get season-pass tickets to Celtics games, sure that Armand/Alyssa would arrive during one of the games and begin preying on the fans during the games in Boston, Massachusetts. During one game, Vega and D met the brilliant African-American professor Cornel West and discussed with him how Celtics fanfare was promoting multiculturalism in America. It was then that they realized that Armand and Alyssa were at the game and waiting...waiting to attack the Celtics fans (including Cornel West!). Vega and D wondered if they should have worn the Celtics t-shirts they decided to wear to the game!
