Candy Canes: a great candy with a horrible wrapper

I love candy canes. I love traditional peppermint and almost all possible flavors. Now that the winter break is over, there are hundreds of them in the teachers' lounge being given away as overstock from the holidays. Love 'em.

But why does the damn wrapper have to be so tough to get cleanly off? I always end up having to peel at least at third painstakingly with fingernails. Lately, witht he abundance, I have taken to breaking them in half and peeling off whichever half seems the easiest and throwing the other half away.

Anyone know a solution? I know it is a first world problem . . .

Puffy vagina^^^^ which can be cured with hard, long candy canes. Just eat the wrapper, lick it, chew it, it'll come off.
