I thought of an interesting way someone could thwart the governments spying practice on computer users who use anonymous names on the internet. I believe they pair each username with an email address. They then cross reference that username with other ones until they find what you have been up to. What if everyone used the same username like Obama. YOu would then have a million obamas with a million possible email addresses. Now they have to cross reference that with the same list of of OBamas to find someone. I am not sure how effective that would be but it would be a lot harder than if everyone had a unique username on the internet.

Your ISP gives the NSA all of the information it wants. Your username won't make it any more or less difficult for them to spy on you.
