That question can lead into some pretty interesting areas. If you cannot die before God calls you home, then why does He think it's a good idea for some promising leader, who is just getting started and gaining in influence and doing lots of good, to be called home before their work is finished? I can think of several leaders who were killed or in tragic accidents before they really got a chance to impact the world for good.

Better yet, if that is true, then why was it necessary for Him to call that cute little girl home by having her fall out of a cruise ship window, down 110 ft, to the concrete below in Puerto Rico? She had a very loving family who misses her very much, and her potential was snuffed out before she even had a chance. She could have been a potential great leader, or the person who cures cancer (much like anti abortionists argue). What's even worse, is all the crap the family is having to go through, because Puerto Rico is pressing charges against the grandfather for negligent homicide. Me personally, I think the cruise line is at fault.

The question doesn't make sense. If you jump off a high building, you will die. If you shoot yourself in the head, you will die. If you overdose on pills, you will die. Thinking that somehow a higher power will keep you alive after you do these things is dumb.

What about all the suicides that fail because of various reasons and the people end up being saved? What about all the people who should have died, but survived experiences that should have killed them? I seem to remember a little boy falling through ice, being underwater for over 30 min. He ended up in a coma, but then recovered. Matter of fact, they've made a movie about him.

Do not put God to the test. Jesus said that.

Most people might say that God saved the boy but let die the girl.

Both are not true.

God is not behind you watching you every move you do.

He is not calling home to anyone. (who knows who invented such idea)

He doesn't even know when you were born.

Eventually he will know about it, but the biblical God doesn't behave the way YOU want him to behave.

Didn't say anything about testing God. Just pointed out that there were many examples of suicides that have failed, or people who have survived impossible situations. You were the one that said there is no way a Higher Power could keep someone alive in those situations. I simply showed where it appeared that it did.

Imagine if a steamroller ran over you but you didn't die.

You are now a living grease slick in the middle of the street.

Rev 9:6 In those days people will seek death but will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them!

Your destiny was known before you were born. God is all knowing and Angels will escort the believer to paradise upon death.

Apparently, since there seems to be a lot of brain dead democrats walking the earth.

I don't really understand the question, Bear.

With that said..I think people die (that child on the cruiseship for example) was maybe taken before we THINK they should have gone because HE decided it was her time for whatever reason. Maybe something dire was in her immediate future? It is not for us to know His reasons.

Not necessarily. Some people who jumped off of high buildings only ended up crippled for life, in a wheelchair. Many people who try shooting themselves in the head only end up blowing their faces off, and being seriously fucked up for the rest of their lives. Overdosing on pills is not fun either. Most of the time they puke their guts out out while having their stomach pumped.

Dying is not fun, and I'm not ready to find out what's on the other side. Many people mistakenly believe after losing a loved one, they could be reunited with that loved one if they themselves would die. I actually felt that way 15 years ago, after losing a girlfriend. I tried smoking myself to death with crack cocaine.

15 years later, I'm glad I didn't. Life has so much to offer, and we're not going to come this way again. It is written in the Bible: "It is appointed for a man to die once, but after that the judgement", and I'm not ready for that judgement. Not yet.

Fatalism is dangerous, it's the reason people in India are careless with safety, they think they can't die until it is their fate to die.
