can somebody please fill me in?

Im relatively new to the forums, and relatively new to life. I'm 14 years old, and frankly, dont know too much about politics and international affairs and such. So if anyone has anything to say about this subject, please tell me. By the way, my father is on his 22nd year in the Army, my brother is currently applying to many military academies, so as you may have guessed, we are a very conservative Republican family.

Welcome aboard. The best advice I could probably give you:

Don't get all of your information from 1 place, and go with what feels right in your gut. There is a lot of info out there, some good, some bad.

And don't be in such a hurry to grow up

Yeah, alot of times, I'll be watching the news and realize they are only covering half or less than half of the story. And about growing up too fast, I dont like being a kid. Nobody my age takes anything seriously. Most people in my classes hate America and the President with NO supporting statements, they just try to be cool...

How wonderful! I have children your age and I cant get them interested in much of anything going on in the world. GOOD FOR YOU!

My husband also posts on this board (DKSuddeth) and he already likes you, as he was a marine - so just your login name already has pleased him - LOL!

A piece of advice - (it differs a BIT from GOP guy's lol - but he is a great guy with alot of passion and energy in his posts!)
My advice - listen to everything, temper that with common sense, listen to your inner voice once youve done that - at that point, ask yourself WHY you believe/dont believe and/or agree/disagree with said information - if you can give yourself a good, solid, honest answer, there ya go! Also, temper ALL the above with a little balance. Thats always a good idea. Its real easy to flame and argue (and even a little fun too lol) however, information is always better received when its given in the form of an intelligent, noncombative post....just my 2 cents! :

Ok hey thanks for responding so fast, I can hardly keep up! It's kinda hard for me to not look at things and analyze them into a right or wrong basis. I see things in black and white, no grey. However, I cant refuse a poker night with my friends evry week or so.
