<blockquote>Within one day of the politically-timed leak about an investigation into a missing National Archives document, the White House has been caught in a lie about the matter. When the leak first was made public, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said, "the first we became aware of it was upon seeing the media reports." Today, however, AP reports the "Justice Department notified the office of White House legal counsel Alberto Gonzalez about the probe before news of it leaked to the media Monday." The New York Times quotes an anonymous administration officials who says top Bush aides were informed of the investigation. This is the same Justice Department headed by Attorney General John Ashcroft – a man who said on 10/16/03 that "Leaks are a serious matter... if [people] purposefully leak information [they are] suborning the national security in the interests of the United States to some interests of their own." Ashcroft has so far said nothing about his Department's politically timed leak of an investigation that started 10 months ago, but was leaked just 48 hours before the release of the 9/11 Commission report, which is expected to be critical of President Bush.</blockquote>

Yet again, the Administration displays its moral bankruptcy and, apparently, revels in it. Another carefully timed leak to distract from issues that the Administration will find embarassing.

But the only embarassment here is Dubbyuh's administration and its blatant hypocrisy. Talk tough on the matter of leaks from within the administration, until it is convenient for them to do the leaking.

I'll give you this - you've got some nerve squawking about moral bankruptcy as you present your perverted and distorted view of this administration. Your assertion that the Bush administration will be embarrassed by the 9-11 commission report has gone up in smoke. You can't even prove that the Berger episode was leaked by the administration, yet you waste no time jumping to conclusions and putting on your best holier-than-thou act. And so what if it was leaked? You worried about the truth getting out? (rhetorical question, the answer is obviously yes)

Moral bankruptcy my ass. How the hell would you know? Ethical behavior is a moral tenet and from the distortions and outright bullshit I've seen you post, I doubt that you'd recognize a moral if one bit you on the ass.

How many times does this troll have to be proven wrong and humilated before he finally leaves or is banned?

Thats rhetorical right? Its like how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop or how many chicks will clinton bang before he's satisfied. I don't think there is an exact answer.

Why am I not surprised to find it was Bully who is trying to spin this ugliness back onto Bush. How completely moronic for him to be condemning the leak, while remaining blind to the actual crime committed.

Congrats, Bully. You've reached a new low.

No its about par for the course with him. I fully expected him to be the first one merely because acludem hasnt been around and spillmind ran away from another article recently. So i knew bully would be up to the moronic challenge.

Well gosh folks, once again you've completely missed the mark. The blatant hypocrisy of Dubbyuh and his merry band is the issue. As to whether or not Sandy Berger made off with classified docs...If he did, lock him in a cell with a 300lb bull faggot named "Bubbles". If he didn't, who cares.

Many here seem all to willing to condone unethical and even illegal action on the part of the administration, but scream bloody murder when anyone has the temerity to point out that the emperor has no clothes. That's what makes government work...accountability. None of this hush-hush, secret, back-room deal bulshit this administration seems so fond of. Ya gotta keep asking the bastards hard questions until you get an answer. Our mainstream media has failed in this respect, and some of you seem afraid of the answers. Grow up children.

And JIHADTHIS...go back to reading your copy of "<i>Mein Kampf</i>".

Thought about this all day, in order to post, Bully? Glad I'm not you!

hmm...

Hypocricy.

Instead of focusing on the lowering casualty rates in Iraq, lib's keep pointing to Abu Graihb and calling it a 'scandal'!

Typical liberal, however...never pointing the finger back at 'his' people, and asking them to remain accountable.

In YOUR eyes, the greater sin is in announcing a Democrat's illegal activity; Not the activity itself.

Now lemme replace 2 words which will be in bold:

Well gosh folks, once again you've completely missed the mark. The blatant hypocrisy of DARWIN and his merry band is the issue.

Many here seem all to willing to condone unethical and even illegal action on the part of the athiests, but scream bloody murder when anyone has the temerity to point out that the emperor has no clothes.

See, you and your band of socialist propagandists are at the heart of most of what is wrong around here.

Lemme quote Washington:
The Farewell Address of
President George Washington Sept. 17, 1796
http://www.law.ou.edu/hist/washbye.html
Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connexions with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.
and
Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens,) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake; since history and experience prove, that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of Republican Government. But that jealousy, to be useful, must be impartial; else it becomes the instrument of the very influence to be avoided, instead of a defence against it. Excessive partiality for one foreign nation, and excessive dislike of another, cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots, who may resist the intrigues of the favorite, are liable to become suspected and odious; while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.

Kathianne posed an excellent question in the Political Races section:

Why are the victims of "orchestrated" and "politically timed" leaks always Democrats? Wait - I've got it! It's because of the inherent moral inferiority of Republicans! Thank God we have the likes of Dan Rather to keep these things in perspective for us.

So glad you've seen the 'light.' Watch out.......
