Brilliant GOP "no leader" tactic

GOP needs a leader, hell the country needs a leader. We certainly don't have one right now.

could not agree more.....the sad thing is.....there is no one riding over the hill from either party....the media is responsible for a lot of this IMO.....they destroy many good people who would run.....but wont because of this.....so we end up with the scrapings from the bottom of the barrel....people who cant go any further down ....

You forgot to mention that only 6% of scientists self-identify as republicans, dickweed!:lol::lol:

Dean....so i see you have sex with little boys...pervert....

rdean is too dumb to understand that the MSM selected Obama for him.

Now that is a hoot. I remember some conservative watchdog group and their surprise that Obama relieved negative press more than 70% of the time and McCain less than 50%.

Obama, his neighbors, people he barely knew, his family.

The media went after him but good. No one where I work knew Wright served in the Marines and the Navy Medical Corps. No one knew that Obama and Ayers served on "different" boards at the institute they worked at. Everyone thought Obama started his "political" career in Ayers livingroom and I live in Chicago. No one knew Veterans groups scored Obama at 80% or more and gave him a grade no lower than "B". And I could go on and on.

Then look at McCain.

How many knew McCain received a grade of D from Veterans groups and no score higher than 20%. Keating 5 was never discussed. The whole "How many houses do you own" was an "Internet sensation", but I don't remember seeing it more than once or twice on the news. McCain lobbying for EADS and Airbus for up to a hundred billion dollar Air Force contract to France, how many knew that? Then there was McCain's "spiritual advisor" Rod Parsley as well as nutbag John Hagee who is looking for nuclear war. It might bring Jesus back. McCain's infidelity was never mentioned. Nor his support to make women pay for "birth control" but make "Viagra" free for men who have insurance.

John McCain was given such a pass. And he wanted to make Sarah Palin vice president? He might as well have picked "I love Lucy".

If the media in this country did their job, we would never have invaded Iraq.

The GOP has no leader....it also lacks leadership

True, it prevents anyone from being a target but it also leaves the party with no direction. Michael Steele, Mitch McConnel, John Boehner are not the voice of the party.in the absence of leadership, Rush, Hannity and Beck are.

Even worse is they have no credible presidential candidates for 2012. Palin has the highest recognition and is poison to the party. Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty all have serious flaws

This is a party in disarray. No leadership and no credible message

THIS is reality and it is hurting the GOP more than their complete lack of ideas and obstructionist tactics for our country.

That is your personal opinion.

Nobody denies the leadership within the Democratic Party. Obama is the leader and sets the agenda. He is also accountable for that agenda.

Nobody in the GOP serves a similar role....except maybe Fox News

The right is playing this perfect. Let our people figure out on their own who we are, what we believe in. Let individuals express themselves without being told by a savior what to do or think. This also gives the left a less defined target.
I disagree...They're not that smart.

What they're doing is blundering into the situation, like they did in 1994.

The bad news is that if they don't find a credible and convincing front man (or woman) soon after they are given power by default, they'll end up with another establishment opportunist (like Newt Gingrich) stealing and misdirecting the thunder again.

Newt was pretty much the spokesperson for the Contract with America, wasn't he?

Republicans had a leader, albeit figuratively, with Reagan.

Right now, they have no such figurehead...And giving the repubs the power in congress (all but a foregone result) this fall will most likely end up giving a squishy sellout DC insider dweeb, like John Boehner, the reins.

What will be interesting is the impact that the crowd represented right now by Rubio will do. If he does what he seems likely to do, there will be some ruffled feathers from the old ways guys.

Boehner has talked the talk for a while now. If given the chance, will he walk the walk?

well thats bad news Rw...because in order for this country to work the President needs the support of not only his own party, but a good deal of those on the other side.....up until Bush Jr.,it did not seem to matter who was president, there was always a rift between the parties...but those guys kept it from getting huge.....now there is a canyon....and its getting bigger....and since this decade has begun, we have the worst leadership this country has ever seen, and the attitude from both sides is....fuck you....that canyon will soon be called the Grand Canyon.....

The "great gap" began when Clinton was able to to make the GOP congressional majority look like chumps, from shutting the government down to NAFTA to gun control to impeachment. The GOP truly believed that the could create a permanent majority with Bush's election, forgetting they had been the minority party since the 1930s except for short periods. The GOP has not changed, and it will remain in the minority.

I agree. I believe it started in the early 90s with Newt Gingrich and has grown to the point where compromise is considered failure. A Win-win proposal is discarded because it lets the other guy win too.
24 hour news and internet boards such as this do not help the situation. Any politician who reaches accross the aisle is instantly attacked and thousands or irate callers are on him within hours.
