Police in Washington DC have discovered a suspicious package one block from the White House and just metres away from the presidential inauguration parade route.

A massive security operation is underway following the incident in the US capital this evening.

US special forces are on high alert as Mr Trump takes over as 45th President of the United States on Friday, January 20, 2017....

.....It comes as the radical left announced it is planning riots in Washington DC to cause chaos on the run up to president elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

And they are hoping that their civil disruption will stop the event from going ahead amid a massive security clamp down over terror fears.

According to websites run by organisers, they will take to the streets in mass protests.

And they are calling on US citizens from all over the country to travel to the city in a bid to destroy the festivities planned for Mr Trump's swearing in ceremony.

Slamming his supporters who they call "Christian fundamentalist fanatics, war mongers, racists, science deniers" they are planning to "jump barricades" admitting what they plan to do is "illegal".

Legba Carrefour of organised protest group DisruptJ20 said they are hoping to cause widespread disruption to transportation routes.

He said: “We are planning to shut down the inauguration, that’s the short of it.

“We’re pretty literal about that, we are trying to create citywide paralysis on a level that I don’t think has been seen in D.C. before.

"We’re trying to shut down pretty much every ingress into the city as well as every checkpoint around the actual inauguration parade route.”

And they have every intention of completely interrupting the celebrations in a bid to “shut down the Inauguration".
