Boston Globe Endorses Huntsman for GOP Nominee

Jon Huntsman stomped the piss out of all the other candidates for president at the republican debate. Huntsman is the #1 Jobs Candidate.

WSJ said he had the best economic platform of all the GOP candidates.

That sounds about right from the perspective if the WSJ. If he would let go of the social conservative nonsense, I would have considered voting for him.

If Huntsman were the nominee he would need the wacko right; if elected he would move to the center and drive the far right more insane (if that were possible).

Cleary he's the smartest of all the candidates; of course that's like writing the one eyed man sees more clearly than the blind.

I'm always amazed by this "If only you Republicans would nominate nice moderates, we could almost stand you" stuff liberals keep trying to pull off.

But it never happens.

Why Republicans even entertain the stupidity amazes me.

"Oh, John McCain is a nice sensible moderate. We might vote for him if he were the nominee instead of Bush!"

And we dumbasses nominate McCain and he gets 3 million less votes than Bush did.

Jon Huntsman at the Republican Debate

Sounds like he's another "Free Trader" ready to bow down before our new Chinese Masters.

Ni-Hao, baby.

He is for fair trade, not starting a trade war. A trade in 1929 proved to be a disaster for this country & the world. He knows how to compete & win against China. Because if we don't, China will be our master. Romney's plan is to call China a currency manipulator when we are the biggest currency manipulator on the planet. It is much better to make China adhere to the same product safety, workers rights & EPA standards as we have to in order to compete on a level playing field. Also counter tariff their subsidized products to halt their unfair monopolization of industries.

in the past, republicans weren't rightwingnut rabid radicals. a president represents the entire country... not just a bunch of self-involved reactionary loons.

McCain would have won if a) he ran on the same platform he did in 2000.... and b) didn't pick the tweeting twit as his running mate.

We haven't had a true Republican candidate or president since Reagan.

All our current RINO's worry about is how can they appear more moderate in order to appeal to the liberal leaning members of the Republican party.

Forget that nonsense!!

And field a true conservative Republican that doesn't care what liberals/lefties/progressives think or do. Period

A person who shows true leadership based on conservative ideas and values.

Not a middle of the road trying to appeal to everyone RINO retard stance on issues.

Great!

That means, one supposes, that of all the current GOPer's plans to destroy the American Middle CLASS, Huntsman's will take the longest?

Very comforting.

For vision and national unity, Huntsman for GOP nominee

Dissatisfaction with the economy, expressed in spasms of anger toward Wall Street and Washington; the dashed hopes of many who believed that Barack Obama’s election would create a new spirit of unity; and genuine uncertainty about Democratic health care reform - all of these have created an historic opportunity for the Republican Party. Just three years removed from a Republican administration that was roundly judged a failure, the party has a chance to renew itself - to blaze a path to bipartisan action on the budget, to introduce market-based solutions to health costs, and to construct a post-Iraq War network of alliances to promote global economic strength, knowing that true security comes from both peace and prosperity.

He's a flaming rino or a lib in sheeps clothing.
If Jillian endorses or says something good about a Republican.

You can rest assured they are 100% a totally lefty liberal RINO of the worst kind.

Just because Reagan talked tough in campaigns you guys think he was a hard ass neo-con. The fact is he failed to respond to attacks & threats from the same assholes that hit us since & still threaten us today.

Here is a list of unanswered attacks under Reagan.

- Nov. 4, 1979 Hostages taken at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran
- April 18, 1983 Bombing of U.S. Embassy in Beirut
- Oct. 23, 1983 Bombing of Marine barracks in Beirut
- Dec. 12, 1983 Bombing of the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait
- March 16, 1984 CIA Station Chief William Buckley kidnapped
- Sept. 20, 1984 Bombing of U.S. Embassy annex northeast of Beirut
- Dec. 3, 1984 Hijacking of Kuwait Airways Flight 221
- June 14, 1985 Hijacking of TWA Flight 847
- October 1985 Hijacking of cruise ship Achille Lauro
- January 1986 Bombing of Rome, Vienna airports
- April 5, 1986 Bombing of La Belle Discotheque
- December 21, 1988 Bombing of Pan Am Flight 103

Reagan never held Iran or Libya accountable for any of this terrorism.

Reagan also started National Healthcare for all seeking care from a hospital's emergency department in all states and territories of the United States when he signed EMTALA aka "Patient Anti-Dumping Act".

- Huntsman says he will go after Iran!
- Huntsman creats jobs.
- Huntsman did not give us Romney Care or "Patient Anti-Dumping Act".

Sounds like the NY Times stepchild, the Globe is playing a dirty political game by trying to inject controversy into the republican primary by endorsing a candidate that has almost dropped out.

Why are you such an angry hateful person?

You go out of your way to name call all the time.

What's going so badly in your life that you have so much contempt for people?

Reagan gave Iran weapons to release the hostages. He rewarded Iran. Reagan should have hit them. 22 years later Iran still laughs as it saber rattles with us & calls us cowards. Iran was responsible for most of those terror attacks.

Does this even matter anymore? Boston Globe/NY Times endorsements just don't mean much anymore. Both Newspapers have an obvious agenda. So who they endorse is very predictable. I'm 99.9% sure they're not gonna endorse anyone not named Barack Obama in the General Election. Bet on that. It's a lock.

Santorum has a fifty-fifty chance of carrying PA. Perry will carry Texas, Newt will carry Georgia. But Mass. will remain in the Democratic column no matter who wins.

Rick Santorum lost his Senate reelection in Pennsylvania by 18 points. I'd say his chances of carrying the state are less than 50-50.

The last ‘true’ republican president or candidate you had was Ford, Reagan was a tool of the radical right and social conservatives. Huntsman refers to himself as an ‘Eisenhower republican.’ A social liberal and fiscal conservative, Huntsman has the pragmatism needed to address the Nation’s issues.

If you want to go by past performance he carried the state twice before losing it once.

So I'd say, based on that, his chances are 66-33.
