USSR
In the USSR, in the 60-70s - this was the best gift for children.
This game cost 5 rubles (7 dollars)

Frankly, this game was broken after "several combat matches" ...
Moreover, the Fathers played ... :04::04::04:

I used to play that a lot--there are full size pool table sized versions of this that don't fall apart after some Dads got their hands on it.
Fun game.

Of course. We don't call that a board game, though. Board games are games like Clue or Sorry--you know, games with a BOARD.

Monopoly is fun. Played it as a kid, played it as an adult in lieu of cards with some friends. It can get good after several beers.

Sorry is great for younger kids. No reading and players end up with pretty even chances of winning.

I love board games! We own about two hundred different games. My group of friends get together almost every weekend to play.
