Y-A-W-N. That would be because the DNC decided as a body that South Carolina should be the first primary for a party that supports and encourages diversity. Iowa and NH (disclaimer, I live in NH) are sparsely populated, almost completely white states that have not had a hand in deciding a Presidential election in decades. But, the politicians in my home state are determined to keep our irrelevancy at the fore so they are grandstanding. Biden is just keeping to what his party has decided. Really not newsworthy.

NH actually had a big effect in ‘00. Bush won the state, but if just half of those who voted for Nader had voted for Gore, he’d have taken the state, won the election and FL would have been moot!
