CDZ Better Speaker....Nancy Pelosi or John Boehner?

Don't see anyone posting John Boehners accomplishments

telling...very telling

It was a legislative tour de force from someone who plainly believes that the purpose of politics goes beyond serving the self-interest of politicians. From the stimulus that averted a second Great Depression to Wall Street reform to the transformation and expansion of college student aid, Pelosi and the president have written more landmark legislation than anyone in nearly half a century. Majority Leader Harry Reid did his best in the sclerotic Senate, and at critical moments change squeaked by the Republican blockade.

Pelosi Delivered US Message Board - Political Discussion Forum

Obama not-with-standing, the ding bat duo of Reid and Pelosi was the reason the Dems lost the House and Senate. The governorships (31-18: LOL) can be attributed to all three and a rejection of Dem leadership in general.

The combination of poor Dem leadership and even weaker TP type people in office led to a smashing for the mainstream GOP.

Cruz et al are helpless now as are the Dems except where Obama wields the veto and the Dems in the Senate can hold up cloture.

Still haven't seen any accomplishments in Boehners favor

After an outstanding record from Pelosi, I guess it is a tough act to follow

Nancy Pelosi is one of the best speakers of our generation. As the first woman Speaker of the House, she was able to pass far reaching legislation that enacted healthcare, stopped a depression, enacted Fonancial reform and expanded the rights of women and gays

A truly historic resume

“She ranks with the most consequential speakers, certainly in the last 75 years.”

Norman Ornstein, resident scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute on Nancy Pelosi

She got it done with her veto-proof majority, that's leadership

Pelosi was able to build a strong coalition within her party

Something Boehner can't do

Pelosi passed national healthcare, Boehner can't even get a pipeline passed

Seriously. You're comparing an aged botox-riddled ding bat to Boehner?

I agree. That comparison is ridiculous. Nancy passed a lot of bipartisan legislation that helped our country immensely. Boehner can't even get his party to even agree on who they want for a speaker. Even fringe members of the house who are widely considered nothing but childish fools thought they could do better than him, and they could have been right.

Has there been a better Speaker of the House in our generation than Nancy Pelosi? In four years as Speaker she had more legislative accomplishments than any speaker in recent history

How does she stack up against her replacement John Boehner? Who will be remembered more in history?

.
The answer to your title?

None of the above.

The role of Congress isn't to enact as many bills as possible. The role of Congress is to pass legislation that is good for the country. What Pelosi rammed through wasn't good legislation. The stimulus was a liberal "pork fest" that didn't create jobs. The Affordable Care Act was probably the most poorly written piece of legislation ever passed by Congress. Even it's supporters admitted that it needed a complete overhaul in order to work but it was passed anyways.

Tip O'Neil was head and shoulders a better Speaker than Nancy Pelosi. It isn't even a contest. So was Newt Gingrich. Both worked with an opposition party President and STILL got the country's business done. Pelosi couldn't manage that with a Democratic President in office!

Think how great she would have been if she had read the legislation before it was passed. By the way most if not all of Pelosis so called accomplishments were done in the two years the Democrats controlled both the House, the Senate, and Presidency it's pretty easy to get things passed when you have that and one last thing the public was thrilled with her accomplishments they gave the Republicans control of the House with the 2010 midterms.

What's amusing about Winger's "ode to Nancy" is that she lost the Speaker's job because the American people voted so many of her fellow Democrats out of office because they didn't like the legislation that San Fran Nan was passing. Voting for legislation that Pelosi backed was a one way ticket out of Washington, DC for a record number of Democrats!

She never had to face an attempted mutiny like Boehner did. I'm not sure how a speaker can even function when so many of his own party hates him.

Dude, Pelosi had to strong-arm moderate Blue Dog Democrats into supporting her progressive agenda...something they didn't want to do but Pelosi and Obama bullied them into. Those Blue Dog Democrats by and large ALL lost reelections because they went along with their "leaders" and Pelosi ended up losing the Speaker's job as well.
