I was late getting started, with dinner planned for 4PM, because I stayed on this board too long yesterday. When I finally got back out into the kitchen, I groaned that I still had to cut up some celery and carrots. My youngest nephew, not quite 12, said "Auntie M, why don't you just put some whole carrots and stalks of celery in the pot and cook those, then when they're done they'll be a lot easier to cut up. You could even use poultry shears and not even have to remove them from the pot." God Bless the Children.
