Rock drummers. Hmmm - I'd say Ginger Baker but I think he was a recognised jazz drummer before he joined up with Bruce and Clapton. Unless there's a major objection I'll nominate Baker as mine.

neil peart is a great drummer, but rush sucks.

Shouldn't you post that in this thread?

i thought i did.

before my son started taking lessons, he learned a lot from some videos by neil peart. i thought at the time that rush sucked, and i've seen no reason to adjust my opinion.

You don't have to! People like Rush, or they don't. I liked them in college, now, if I hear a song by them it brings back great memories, but I don't have any of their albums.

Neil Peart is a great drummer tho, I would pick Buddy Rich, but he's not a "rock drummer"

Peart and Baker and Moon....are definitely 3 DAM great drummers...hard to beat em....

other good ones....

John Bonham

Carl Palmer

Cozy Powell ( Rainbow) was supposed to be the fastest....

Fuck, what kind of thread is this where Bonham doesn't come in until post 10? :eusa_hand:

And just to get on someone's bandwagon for once ... Rush indeed blows chunks. I'd listen to Boxcar Willie first.
