You have a one touchdown lead. Ball on the 10 yard line. Kick a chip shot field goal and ice the game. What does Saban do? Goes for it on 4th and 1...and doesn't get it. Auburn ties. Runs back a missed field goal to win the game. With no time on the clock. Granted Alabama missed 3 field goals. But good God kick that field goal from the 10. Then you're going to attempt a 57 yarder with your back up kicker? Why not run out the last second and go into overtime? The Tide deserved that loss.

I just wonder if Saban knew the kick returner was waiting in the end zone. Did Bama have a timeout?

Time had expired. Saban argued there was a second left. Officials agreed and put a second on the clock. Bama tried a 57 yard FG with their backup kicker. Yep the return man was standing in the end zone. They should have taken their chances in overtime.

Yeah, except the ball was on the 13 yard line, which makes that "chip shot" (you think was a sure thing) a 33 yard field goal. He had already missed one from 33 yards.

Bama is 6 of 10 on 4th down conversions. The odds were better that we could push 2 yards than that our kicker could hit a 33 yarder. We are a power running team.

I have heard others complaining that we should have gone with a hail mary and let AJ win the game instead of the long FG. That is just as laughable.

If we went into overtime, we would probably have lost too. The 2nd half was auburn's, not Bama's. We stalled over and over, while they continually drove down & scored.

In the 2nd half they drove 69 and 83 yards, in drives of 9 and 7 plays. We had one 99 yard play for a score. Other than one excellent pass play on broken coverage, we were scoreless in the entire half. You think if it came down to one chance that we would score? They were obviously moving the ball while we were not.

The biggest factor was that the kicking team let the guy run the miss FG back. They looked like they didn't even know he could score that way. The pursuit was anemic at best.

Incredible! and I didn't think they could beat the Ohio State ending!
