Who is the greatest director of all-time?

I have to go with Steven Spielberg. Virtually everything he touches is gold. Definitely the greatest we've ever seen.

I also voted for John Ford, Martin Scorsese and Quinten Tarrantino.

Who do you got? Vote for as many as you'd like.

In addition to the ones you mentioned, I would go with Ron Howard.[ A Beautiful Mind] :)

Just to throw a chick into the mix, I like Nora Ephron. But nobody can lay a glove on Hitchcock. He had it all: casting, writing, special effects, camera work, editing, sound, music, etc.

    Still the best.

I can't answer. How do you say any one of them is "the best"? (You left Ridley Scott off the list)

My favorites are Kubrick, Coppola, Scorsese and Scott.
